Hi, my name is Jan Smith. That’s ‘Jan’ pronounced ‘Yan’. I’m a dude (thought I better clear that up).
I’m a musician. You won’t see me headlining Madison Square Garden or anything like that. But you also won’t see me doing a day job. And that’s where I think most musicians will be happiest. I started this site with the intention of just documenting my journey. But I wanted to be more helpful than that. So this site is dedicated to helping musicians make an honest (or at least mostly honest) living in the digital age.
